once i fed my parakeets vegestable seed mixed with fruits and i saw its poop it turned green everyday and stopped when i changed in their normal food is this normal??
Omg I never knew that!!! I have 2 parakeets (and one decided to get on my finger for the first time today!!!!!) and have been using just the regular parakeet seed from QFC. I’ll try to make a new diet on these rules and see how it works!

My budgie is kinda weird , he is a picky eater, he only chooses to eat bird seeds, and doesn’t eat the vegetables or fruits
omg ive got an alternative for wednesday my bird im feeding him weatabiz :) its human food and if i crush it up and put it in his bowl i think he’ll be happy

Crazy, never even thought about the FDA when it came to animals. I figured that a lot pet food was just from surplus, or food that just low quality from those who produce from humans. That’s an extremely important fact to bring up, thanks. Would you also say it’s important to have lot’s of variety, such as, having multiple types of grain available? Should we be looking at fat content when we buy that? Only leafy greens? What about bits of fruit? I understand that avocado isn’t very good fo them
