Tennis requires strength, power, endurance, balance, and speed, and tennis star Anna Kournikova’s 52-minute workout, aimed at experienced athletes, emphasizes these fitness elements. Kournikova warms up by jumping rope, including one-footed hopping and speed jumping. Then she trains muscle endurance with 15 to 20 repetitions of varied lower- and upper-body exercises using dumbbells and a stability ball. Next a partner joins her for the medicine ball segment, including overhead throw, side toss, power drop, and other power moves. She then trains for speed and agility with high-knee sprints, lateral shuffles, and a variety of cone sprints (you won’t be able to do these in your living room).
